Cobden Chambers & Courtyard, Nottingham City UK

Community Hub and Garden

The proposal for this Nottingham city centre location was for a peaceful yet collaborative ‘Reverie’ which means ‘a daydream’. The initial concept was location driven as the site is located around the corner from one of the busiest streets in Europe. The design scheme was centred around the old historic functions of the building from when it used to be a Victorian lace factory and an artists studio. The flow and print of lace the material was examined and experimented with. The results were used to create many custom designs including the planting beds, a lace imprinted concrete bar in the form of a Nottingham medlar fruit. This project was very heritage driven with the sources being local heritage fruits and Nottingham Lace.

Ikea, Sheffield UK

Returns and Collections Zone

This live project comprises the negotiation of a brief, time-scale, budget and product between an educational organisation and an external collaborator for their mutual benefit. Our task is to re-imagine one of Ikea’s customer service areas, giving consid- eration to Ikea’s specific requirements from the clients presentation. The client, IKEA, want us to use only there products and adopt there Scandinavian Modern style, yet vibrant colour palette. In response to this we have to complete these requirements: Mood board, Product board, Architectural Drawings, 3d visualisations and Cost to implement the design.
